When you’re in a pinch, creat a diversion! Retired Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) learned that lesson and practices it with vigor. After getting caught in a sexual harassment scandal involving a young male staffer, the disgraced congressman said enough is enough…America needs to know the real story.

The lawmaker is launching an all out attack on the Obama administration, with WH COS Rahm Emanuel as his prime target. Massa points to the president’s men as his political executioners, bent on taking down a principled legislator who refused to vote for Obama initiatives like healthcare and the budget. He’s a martyr, really.
In a modern classic, Rep. Massa describes being accosted in the shower by a naked Emanuel.
Rahm is a congressional gym regular and has been for years. But it seems Massa is less concerned with fact than shifting blame. Rather than taking full and complete responsibility, the New York congressman continues to say ,”yes, but…”
Having lodged his formal public complaints, Massa is now scheduled for a full hour interview with Glenn Beck. Now that’s he’s been dropped by Dems, don’t be surprised to see Massa hitch his wagon to conservatives’. Ultimately, he’s likely to fashion himself into a one-time Democrat turned anti-corruption crusader. I believe it’s what Freud called reaction formation.

To further deflect negative press, Massa should follow Lisa Turtle’s lead from a classic Saved by the Bell episode, All in the Mall. While the teens scavenge for U2 tickets in a deserted mall, they also have to find $5,0oo in a shoe box. To accomplish the task and avoid detection, they had to create a diversion in the food court.
In this case, elected office is the U2 tickets and attacks on Emanuel are the food court diversion. You’re not going to believe this, but I came up with the SBTB analogy all on my own.
